Senate President Susan Wagle said Thursday she plans to create a special committee to evaluate legislation for returning a revenue windfall that the state expects to gain from a change in the federal tax code.
Wagle said she will appoint a nine-member panel — made up of seven Republicans and two Democrats — to consider the so-called windfall legislation. She said the membership of the committee would be announced next week.
After the bill narrowly died in the Legislature last year, Wagle said there is a sense of immediacy to get it passed this legislative session, although it is unclear . . .
