A Senate committee on Wednesday approved a series of bills that cut taxes for homeowners, off-road vehicles, watercraft and battle escalating property values.
The Senate tax committee approved three bills, including a constitutional amendment that would cap property appraisals at 3% for tax purposes.
It also approved a second bill eliminating the state's 1.5-mill property tax levy that funds maintenance and renovations of some state buildings.
