Senate approves new abortion reporting requirement

A proposal that would establish new reporting requirements about women seeking abortions is headed to the governor.

The bill approved in the Kansas Senate on Tuesday and is now headed to Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly, a staunch supporter of abortion rights.

The Senate approved the bill on a 27-13 vote, giving the legislation a slim supermajority to override any veto from the governor.
