Senate approves budget with 3% across-the-board spending cut

The Senate late Tuesday approved a $10.58 billion state general fund budget for fiscal year 2026, including a 3% across-the-board cut in state spending and that forces any executive branch agency employees who work remotely to return to the office.

The Senate's version of the state general fund budget for 2026 is about $235.6 million less than what was approved for fiscal year 2025. The House version is about $246 . . .
