Longtime Republican state Rep. Joe Seiwert says he's on the fence about seeking reelection this year as the mayor of Goddard has filed to run for his seat.
Seiwert of Pretty Prairie says he's been reassessing his role in the Legislature after he was removed as chair of the utilities committee last fall.
He said the decision to remove him from the committee has tainted his reputation in the House, where he has served since 2009.
"I reassessed my value to the Legislature," Seiwert said in an interview. "I truly haven't decided. It's 50-50."
