Second House candidate seeks withdrawal from ballot

Republican Crystal Dozier is seeking to remove her name from the ballot for the House District 83 race, state election officials confirmed Monday.

Dozier is seeking to pull out of the race citing a medical hardship, similar to what Democrat Aaron Coleman is planning to request to get out of the House District 37 campaign.

Dozier has already filed her request, along with certification from a physician, with the secretary of state's office.

The secretary of state cannot act on the request until after 2 p.m. Friday, when she would become the nominee. She was unopposed in the . . .
