Former state lawmaker Ron Hein, a fixture in Kansas politics for 47 years, passed away Wednesday morning at the University of Kansas Hospital surrounded by family. He was 73.
A lobbyist since 1984, Hein was a managing member of Hein Governmental Consulting and formerly president of the Hein Law Firm, chartered since 1988 as a full-service governmental affairs enterprise.
He served in the Kansas Senate from 1977 to 1984 and ran for Congress in the 2nd District in 1978. He also served in the Kansas House 1975 to 1977.
