Republicans pick Trimboli to serve in House District 26

A month ago health-care administrator Frank Trimboli was a Libertarian.

Now, he's the Republican Party's choice to represent parts of Johnson and Miami counties in the Kansas Legislature.

Republican leaders on Thursday night picked Trimboli of Olathe for the House District 26 seat, formerly held by Larry Campbell, who resigned earlier this month to become Gov. Jeff Colyer's budget director.

GOP leaders chose Trimboli over Kevin Weakley, an Olathe attorney.
