After 12 years, the accountant for the Kansas Republican Party abruptly resigned Friday, suggesting he had become uncomfortably entwined in a political struggle.
Steve Iliff announced his resignation in a letter to party leaders Friday, saying he planned to leave in 60 days or whenever the party found a replacement, whichever is sooner. He said he had been the party's accountant since 2010.
"I am not a political person and am afraid I find myself in the middle of a very unpleasant situation and am woefully out of my league," Iliff wrote in a letter obtained by the Sunflower . . .
