A Senate panel on Tuesday recommended against more than $3 million in spending requests from the Commerce Department, including plans to expand its international division for business recruitment.
The Senate Commerce Committee also voted down proposals that included money for a research division within the agency, salesforce data development, the Kansas Creative Arts Commission and an early childhood care initiative.
