Pittman explores run for Kansas House

Former Democratic state lawmaker Jeff Pittman of Leavenworth is looking at trying to return to the Kansas statehouse.

A former member of the Kansas House and state Senate, Pittman told a group of Democrats on Thursday night that he was forming an exploratory committee to run for the Legislature again.

He expects to make a decision in two to three months.

Pittman is looking at mounting a campaign for House District 41, which is now held by Republican state Rep. Pat Proctor, who is running for Kansas secretary of state.

Pittman previously represented the district before running for the Senate . . .
