Phelps comes up 32-votes short, seeks vote recount in Ellis County

Democratic state Rep. Eber Phelps is seeking a recount after  coming up 32 votes short in his bid for re-election in House District 111.

The Ellis County clerk's office confirmed that the Phelps campaign sought the recount after the Board of Canvassers met Thursday.

As of Thursday, Republican Barbara Wasinger led Phelps 4,342 to 4,310 for Phelps. After Election Day, Wasinger led by 40 votes.

The recount is scheduled for Tuesday . . .
