Payroll administrator out at legislative services after plea agreement

A payroll administrator for the Kansas Legislature is no longer in her job after it was reported that she had agreed to plead guilty to a charge stemming from a case of alleged thefts from employee health savings accounts in Soldier Township north of Topeka.

Pamela Buckhalter has not been employed with Legislative Administrative Services since June 16, according to Director Tom Day.

Day declined to comment further because it was a personnel matter and the circumstances of her departure were not known. Buckhalter's lawyer, Kevin Cook, also declined comment.
