Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly is still holding a slight lead in the Kansas governor's race over Republican Attorney General Derek Schmidt as she seeks to win a second term, according to a new independent poll released Wednesday morning.
The poll conducted by Emerson College Polling and The Hill newspaper found Kelly with about 46% of the vote compared to 43% for Schmidt.
Five percent of voters support Independent Dennis Pyle, and 5% of voters are undecided. Pyle had support from 3% of voters in the last poll done by Emerson from Sept. 15-18.
