A new nonprofit social welfare group with ties to the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Americans for Prosperity started running a new ad Tuesday morning in support of a constitutional amendment calling for the election of state Supreme Court justices.
The ad takes on an emerging theme voiced by supporters of the amendment that the public should have the right to vote on Supreme Court justices instead of allowing them to be screened by a panel made up of five lawyers elected by their peers and four people appointed by the governor.
