Democratic state Sen. Ethan Corson on Tuesday morning announced he would run for governor in 2026, setting up a primary showdown with Sen. Cindy Holscher.
Corson, former executive director of the Kansas Democratic Party and now in his second term in the Senate, said he would focus on "kitchen table issues" such as public schools.
“I’m not interested in the partisan battles you see on cable news," the Fairway Democrat said in a statement announcing his candidacy.
