More than $400 million approved in pandemic relief

The State Finance Council on Tuesday doled out more than $400 million in federal coronavirus relief funding to local governments, state universities and agencies hit with unexpected expenses incurred responding to the pandemic.

The council, made up of the governor and state legislative leaders, approved $400 million to counties across the state plus another $26 million to state universities and about $17 million to state agencies.

Sedgwick and Johnson already received a slice of the $1.25 billion - or $194 per person - that came to the state to help offset costs for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Johnson received . . .
