Medical marijuana passage doubtful as session nears end

Key lawmakers say it's unlikely that the Legislature will pass a bill legalizing medical marijuana when it returns for a mini wrap-up session later this month.

A conference committee last took up the bill on April 28, hours before the Legislature's veto session ended.

While House and Senate negotiators agreed to many aspects of a broad bill, there's likely not enough time to work out any differences with the session fast coming to an end.

The Legislature is expected to return to Topeka . . .
