Republican state Rep. Leonard Mastroni passed away early Wednesday after battling a health issue for several months. He was 71.
"Leonard has been a steady voice for the 117th District over the past four years, always seeking to represent the best interests of his constituents and western Kansas," House Speaker Ron Ryckman Jr. said in an email to lawmakers.
"Please join me in keeping Linda and the entire Mastroni family in our prayers," he wrote. "May God bless Rep. Mastroni and his loved ones."
