Republican state Sen. Ty Masterson has officially begun his campaign for the Senate presidency as a new leadership team prepares to take the reins of the chamber.
Masterson, who was just elected to a fourth term in the Kansas Senate, sent out a letter Wednesday asking the Republican caucus to support him for Senate president.
"I pledge to lead boldly and to work tirelessly for our shared values, while always respecting the time-honored traditions of our chamber and each independently elected senator and your constituencies," Masterson wrote.
