Nearly two weeks have passed since Jeff Colyer was sworn in as Kansas’ 47th governor and the capitol still awaits word on his choice for lieutenant governor.
The position will be watched not only because it fills a gap in the line of succession –Senate President Susan Wagle is now second –but because it could form Colyer’s team as he runs for governor this year.
While Colyer has been mum about his choice, he recently gave a little glimpse into what he’s looking for in a lieutenant governor and what role that person would play.
