Legislature sends ‘born alive’ bill to the governor


The Legislature is sending Gov. Laura Kelly a bill requiring physicians to care for an infant born alive after a failed abortion over objections from opponents who say it misrepresents how the procedure works.

The House approved the bill - the Born Alive Infants Protection Act - 86-36, by a slightly smaller margin than the 88-34 vote that it passed by on March . . .
