Legislative leaders on Thursday approved $1 million to help the Kansas State Fair dig out of the losses it suffered after it canceled for the first time in 106 years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Legislative Coordinating Council approved the request to help the fair make it into the new year, when it's hoped that the Legislature will come up with another $1.3 million to help offset the fair's . . .
