Lawmakers pick consultant for electric rate study

The Legislative Coordinating Council on Monday picked a California firm to do the second half of an electric rate study commissioned by lawmakers earlier this year.

The panel selected AECOM Technical Services Inc., which is based in Los Angeles. The company submitted a $250,000 bid.

When combined with the cost of the first half of the study, the total price of the study will come to about $559,000, about $441,000 less than the roughly $1 million that had been originally estimated.
