Kobach recommends keeping satanist event off Capitol grounds

Legislative leaders on Tuesday morning adopted a policy that would allow the state to keep a group of satanists from holding a ritual at the Capitol next week.

The Legislative Coordinating Council approved a new policy that, while intended to apply broadly, would have distinct implications for the Satanic Grotto and its plan to a hold a black mass at the statehouse on March 28.

Senate President Ty Masterson called on Gov. Laura Kelly to empower the Kansas Highway Patrol not to let the black mass happen.
