Kobach challenges use of pronouns in federal court

Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach is objecting to federal judges requiring litigants appearing before the court to use preferred pronouns for the parties participating in cases.

Kobach sent a letter to Jerome A. Holmes, chief judge for the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, saying that there is an increasing number of district court judges requiring litigants to use preferred pronouns for lawyers, witnesses and others involved in case.

The 10th Circuit Court hears appeals from federal courts in six states, including Kansas.

Kobach letter's comes less than a month after the Michigan Supreme Court SSJ
