Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt has appointed Dan Klucas as acting securities commissioner.
Klucas, 58, will become the new securities commissioner if he's confirmed by the Kansas Senate in the upcoming legislative session.
He would replace Jeff Wagaman, who retired in early December after serving 30 years in state government and as securities commissioner since 2019.
An Air Force veteran and retired law enforcement officer, Klucas has 13 years of experience working in state government.
