Kelly signs 16 bills into law; enacted legislation totals 35

Gov. Laura Kelly signed 16 bills into law this week, bringing the total number of bills signed during the 2019 legislative session to 35, with one veto. In some cases where bills appeared to be noncontroversial, we attached testimony to give you better insight about why the bill was needed.

Senate Bill 60: Makes a number of changes to laws regulating real estate brokers. Among other things, the law eliminates the $50 late fee for licenses renewed after the renewal date, but before the expiration date . . .
