Kelly defends response to transgender sports ads

Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly on Friday defended a television ad responding to criticism for blocking bills that would have banned transgender athletes from participating in interscholastic sports for females.

The ad has drawn sharp criticism from Republicans because in the spot she says men should not play girls sports, the very thing her opponents say she stopped when she vetoed the Fairness in Women's Sports Act.
