The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is seeking an estimated $93 million in state funding for a new headquarters, replacing a building that is now older than the agency.
Bob Stuart, the KBI's executive officer, revealed the agency's budget enhancement requests for fiscal year 2026 at two legislative committee meetings this week.
He first discussed the KBI request with the joint Committee on Kansas Security on Tuesday and again Wednesday with the Joint Committee on State Building Construction.
