The state Senate on Thursday agreed to ban cellphones in public and accredited private schools, setting Kansas up to join roughly three dozen states to restrict the device in the classroom.
The Senate approved the bill on a 32-4 vote. The bill now returns to the House to concur with the Senate amendments.
