The Kansas Democratic Party has hired the former budget director for Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign as its new executive director.
Ben Meers, who worked on the Sanders campaign and a variety of other campaigns across the country, started Thursday as the party's new top administrator.
"I am very excited," said Democratic Party chair Vicki Hiatt. "He comes with a lot of experience and a lot of vision for the party."
