Kansas congressman’s intern killed in D.C. shooting

U.S. Rep. Ron Estes and his staff are mourning the loss of an intern, who was killed in a three-person shooting in Washington, D.C., late Monday night.

Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department reported that Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, 21, of Granby, Massachusetts, was fatally shot when multiple suspects exited a vehicle at the intersection of Seventh and M Street Northwest and began firing at another group.

The shooting occurred at about 10:30 Monday night.

At the scene, officers found one unconscious adult . . .
