House Speaker Dan Hawkins on Thursday created a new bipartisan oversight committee with subpoena power to serve in a watchdog role over state agencies and programs.
The committee will be charged with investigating potential misconduct or inefficiency with the goal of holding Kansas’ government entities more accountable.
