House passes amendment banning noncitizen voting

The Kansas House on Wednesday approved a constitutional amendment that would tweak the language in the document to ensure that noncitizens are not allowed to vote.

The House voted 90-28 to approve the amendment, clearing the two-thirds supermajority needed for passage.

The amendment now goes to the Senate. It would ultimately have to be approved by the voters. It would go on the ballot in November 2026.
