House Majority Leader Dan Hawkins has started his campaign to be the next House speaker, following Ron Ryckman Jr., who led the chamber for an unprecedented six years.
Hawkins is traveling the state meeting with Republican legislators after sending out his official announcement the day after the Nov. 8 election.
"Looking back, it has been a challenging four years," Hawkin wrote in his letter.
"We’ve dealt with the fallout of COVID-19 and a Democrat governor claiming to be bi-partisan while repeatedly vetoing broadly supported legislation.
