Governor’s wildlife nominee returned to committee for more vetting

Gov. Laura Kelly’s nominee to lead the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks has been returned to committee for further review.

Senate President Ty Masterson sent Christopher Kennedy's nomination as wildlife and parks secretary back to committee where he's expected to face questions about diversity, equity and inclusion.

A spokesperson for Masterson said the president had multiple requests to send the nominee through the regular committee to receive a full vetting.

Last summer, Kennedy's confirmation whipped out of the Senate interim . . .
