Gov. Jeff Colyer on Thursday appointed two new members to the Kansas Board of Regents, including former Republican gubernatorial rival Mark Hutton and a former state lawmaker from Hays.
Colyer announced the appointments of Hutton and former state Sen. Allen Schmidt to four-year terms on the board. He also reappointed William Feuerborn of Garnett. Their appointments will need to be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
“Bill, Allen, and Mark bring a great amount of experience and talent to the board and I am excited they’ve agreed to serve our great state," Colyer said in a statement.
