Gov. Laura Kelly's been here before.
Just four years ago, Kelly emerged from a pandemic election when Republicans expanded their supermajority, forcing her to work with a more conservative Legislature.
There was a lot of hope that year with millions of dollars flowing into the state - including cash from Hollywood - that the Republican supermajority would be broken.
The stakes were high that year since Democrats wanted to give Kelly the power to stop new redistricting plans that would favor Republicans.
The effort failed.
