GOP encourages voters to remove name from Pyle petition


The Kansas Republican Party is texting voters who signed state Sen. Dennis Pyle's petition to run for governor, telling them that a vote for the senator is a vote for Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly.

Pyle sent out a copy of the text message from Republican Party Chairman Mike Kuckelman, telling voters that they have until 11:59 tonight to request their name be removed from the petition that was filed Monday with the secretary of state's office.

The text message included a paid-for attribution.

On Monday, Pyle turned in a file box with petitions containing 8,894 . . .
