A Republican candidate for governor who has unsuccessfully run for the Kansas House three times has been charged with a felony in Anderson County, law enforcement records show.
George "Arlyn" Briggs, 64, of rural Kincaid, was booked into the Allen County Jail by the Allen County Sheriff's Office on an Anderson County warrant alleging a felony criminal threat made on June 9.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest on Facebook on Wednesday.
