The generational battle over how Kansas picks justices for the state Supreme Court is evolving into an expensive campaign as the group formed to oppose the measure has already raised close to $2 million with the election five months away.
Kansas United for Impartial Courts, listed as a not-for-profit with the secretary of state, reported raising about $1.7 million, according to two reports filed with the state's Public Disclosure Commission on Feb. 13. The election is Aug. 4.
