A former Wichita business executive plans to seek the House seat that will come open with Republican Rep. Patrick Penn's decision to leave the Kansas Legislature.
Coleen Jennison, a former top executive at Cox Communications, announced her candidacy for the 85th District House seat in Wichita over the weekend.
She touted her experience in government affairs and business advocacy.
Republican Party leaders will meet May 28 to pick Penn's replacement.
Jennison, who is married to former House Speaker Robin Jennison, served as the Kansas market vice president for Cox Communications, where she managed 800 employees and oversaw market . . .
