Former Kansas Transportation Secretary Mike King on Saturday announced that he was running for the House seat that will come open with incumbent Stephen Owens' plan to run for state Senate.
Transportation secretary under former Republican Gov. Sam Brownback, King appeared on conservative talk radio in Wichita to reveal his plans to run for House District 74, which covers parts of Hesston, Hillsboro and North Newton.
