Former state Rep. Dick Jones, who served in the Kansas House from 2015 to 2017 and was remembered for living out life to the fullest, died Monday. He was 82.

Described in his obituary as a "true adventurer and eternal optimist," the former Topeka lawmaker was remembered for embracing life, notably spending his 80th birthday skydiving.

"Anyone who met Dick Jones wouldn't forget him," House Speaker Dan Hawkins said in a statement. "He was a fun guy who lived a life of service. He'll be missed."
