A former research analyst who came under fire for comments she made about the fatal shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk is suing the Kansas State Department of Education for wrongful termination.
Katie Allen on Wednesday filed a federal lawsuit against the department and Education Commissioner Randy Watson.
She said they they violated her free speech rights when they fired her in response to public uproar for briefly posting on social media that Kirk's shooting was "well deserved."
