Former lawmaker remembered as devout public education advocate

Friends of former state Rep. Sue Storm remembered the former lawmaker on Monday as a devout supporter of public education who was a strong and loyal friend.

Storm, who at one time was the only Democrat serving in the House from Johnson County, passed away on Thanksgiving morning. She was 81.

She served from 1997 to 2008 in the Kansas House and from 2008 to 2012 on the Kansas State Board of Education.
