Father of attorney general candidate passes away

The father of Republican attorney general candidate Kris Kobach died Tuesday at Midland Hospice House.

He was 83.

Funeral services are set for the former Topeka car dealer at  10 a.m. this Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service and a reception will follow.

Bill Kobach's death comes as his son is seeking the Republican nomination for Kansas attorney general.

Kobach is facing state Sen. Kellie Warren and former federal prosecutor Ton Mattivi in the primary.
