Gov. Laura Kelly on Tuesday assembled a team to implement legislation that will consolidate early childhood services and programs in the state into the Kansas Office of Early Childhood.
The office combines nearly 20 existing state programs serving young children and families into the Office of Early Childhood, which will open in mid-2026.
The office will house child care licensing, child care subsidy and home visitation programs, and the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund.
The new office was created by a bill passed by the Legislature last session.
The office will now have oversight of all funds . . .
