Republican state Rep. Owen Donohoe is resigning his House seat representing District 39 in Johnson County.
The Shawnee lawmaker, who has served two stints in the Kansas House, is resigning effective March 13. He could not be reached for comment late Tuesday afternoon.
Precinct committee members must hold an election to choose his replacement 21 days from when he submitted his resignation on Tuesday.
He served one term in the Kansas House from 2007 to 2012. He returned to the Kansas House in 2019.
He was most recently reelected two years ago with 51% of the vote in defeating Democrat . . .
